'No Values Voters' Looking To Support Most Evil Candidate

What they believe

Let's be clear about Values Voters so called values. From the "Contract with Congress" from www.valuesvoter.org:

1. TO AFFIRM the national relationship with God in our places of worship, schools, mottos, and public spaces, we call for the passage of -
  • The Pledge Protection Act to prohibit activist judges from taking "under God" out of the Pledge (H.R. 2389, S.1046);
  • The Constitution Restoration Act to prohibit activist judges from ruling against acknowledgments of God (H.R. 1070, S.520);
  • The Public Expression of Religion Act to prohibit activist judges from ordering taxpayers to pay lawyers who seek to erode our national relationship with God (H.R. 2679); and
  • The Workplace Religious Freedom Act to promote religious accommodation in employment (H.R. 1445, S. 677).
2. TO SECURE our national interest in the institutions of marriage and family, we call for the passage of -
  • A constitutional amendment to completely protect the institution of marriage; and
  • The Marriage Protection Act to prohibit activist judges from forcing states to redefine the institution of marriage (H.R. 1100).
3. TO SECURE our fundamental right as parents to the care, custody, and control of our children, we call for the passage of -
  • Legislation to codify the principles set forth on Nov. 16, 2005, in House Resolution 547 which would protect parental rights;
  • The Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act to prohibit the transportation of minors against parental rights (H.R.748);
  • The Parental Consent Act to prohibit the use of federal funds for any universal or mandatory mental health screening (H.R. 181);
  • The Child Medication Safety Act, to protect children from being coerced into taking drugs in order to attend school (H.R. 1790);
  • Legislation that empowers parents to choose schools for their families that share their value choices, as well as ensures families are not forced to pay twice for their educational choices; and
  • We call for enforcement of the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA), which prohibits schools from using privacy invading surveys or evaluations without prior written parental consent (20 U.S.C. 1232h).

4. TO SECURE our God-bestowed right to life, we call for the passage of -
  • Legislation to affirm the right to life of our children before birth;
  • The Human Cloning Protection Act to prohibit human cloning (S.658, H.R. 1357);
  • Legislation that protects life by prohibiting the use of human embryos for research;
  • The Unborn Child Pain Awareness Act to raise awareness of the pain experienced by children before birth (S.51, H.R. 356); and
  • Legislation to prohibit any taxpayers' money for organizations that perform, promote, and/or fund abortions.
5. TO SECURE our God-granted liberties, we call for the passage of -
  • Legislation to reverse the loss of religious liberty for churches concerning their involvement in moral and social issues;
  • Legislation to ensure that speech and lawful religious expression are never punished as a "hate crime";
  • An amendment to the Higher Education Act to guarantee First Amendment rights of worship, speech, and association to students and employees as a condition of federal grants and student assistance;
  • Legislation to complete the incarceration process through prisoner re-entry training and child mentoring; and
  • Legislation or policies that call for continued rejection of the anti-family and deceptively-named "U.N. Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW)."
6. TO SECURE our God-given stewardship of property, we call for the passage of -
  • Legislation affirming that government may not redefine "public use" to take the private property of one person to give to another.
7. TO SECURE an environment of decency that is free from pornography and obscenity, we call for the passage of -
  • Legislation to restrict obscenity and pornography, and guard against its mis-stated protection under the First Amendment.
8. TO SECURE just taxes, and end immorally destructive taxation, we call for the passage of -
  • Legislation to fundamentally reform the national tax system and reduce the tax burden on Americans; and
  • Legislation to make permanent Marriage Penalty Relief and the Child Tax Credit.
9. TO SECURE our national borders and identity, we call for the passage of -
  • True Enforcement and Border Security; and
  • Legislation to prohibit, in cases of constitutional interpretation, the use of foreign law as authority.
10. Judges who legislate from the bench subvert our republican form of government of the people, by the people, and for the people, and threaten all these legislative aims.



THEREFORE, WE URGENTLY CALL FOR Judicial Restraint, and an end to Judicial Activism.
  • We call for the passage of the Judicial Conduct Act to hold federal judges accountable to the Constitution.

Changing the label doesn't change the realtity. The old moral majority crowd is still trying to tell me what my values should be.

By claiming that these are Christian values this gang of anti-intellectual thugs co-opt not just the election process but what it means to be Christian. Most people who identify themselves as Christians in this country don't fit their narrow vision. This isn't amusing anymore.

It is scary though

Reading through the Contract with Congress - some of it makes a lot of sense. For example, the contract calls for "Legislation to complete the incarceration process through prisoner re-entry training and child mentoring". Well duh, that would be a good idea.

But right below that is a "rejection of the anti-family and deceptively-named "U.N. Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW)." In other words, the end to equal rights for women. Back to the kitchen you sluts.

Not Christian enough

Before you shrug and think that I'm anti-christian, lets be clear. I am a practicing Roman Catholic. And by the way being Catholic IS being Christian. It's the original flavor. I don't run around calling these evangelicals heretics, nor do I advocate burning them at the stake for twisting our shared religion. A religious war isn't what I'm after - it's what I'm trying to avoid.

Challenge yourself to read their Contract with Congress and find anywhere in the New Testament where these values are professed. Where did Jesus get hot and bothered about property rights, border security or tax credits?

Just remember - if you don't agree with their entire agenda you are an apostate. So Catholics, Lutherans, Methodists and dozens of other church organizations that actually focus on the Word of God instead of the politics of hate are not Christian enough.

Not American Enough

How many flag pins can you wear? Are you really more American if you live in one part of the country or another? Are we going to start measuring our americanism by how many lines of descent we can claim from, from whom? Who was the most american American?

The Holy War

It's interesting to compare the evangelical movement with the techniques of the radical Islamic movement of Qutbism or even our own historical inquisition.

"Radical" Islam has core ideology:

  • adherence to Sharia as sacred law accessible to humans, without which Islam cannot exist

  • adherence to Sharia as a complete way of life that will bring not only justice, but complete freedom from servitude, peace, personal serenity, scientific discovery and other benefits;

  • avoidance of Western and non-Islamic "evil and corruption," including socialism and nationalism;

  • vigilance against Western and Jewish conspiracies against Islam

  • a two-pronged attack of 1) preaching to convert and 2) jihad to forcibly eliminate the "structures" of godlessness

  • the importance of offensive Jihad to eliminate godlessness not only from the Islamic homeland but from the face of the earth.



Change the words just a bit and you've got

  • adherence to God's Law as sacred law accessible to humans, without which Christianity cannot exist

  • adherence to God's Law as a complete way of life that will bring not only justice, but complete freedom from servitude, peace, personal serenity, scientific discovery and other benefits;

  • avoidance of non-Christian "evil and corruption," including socialism and nationalism;

  • vigilance against Islamic and Liberal conspiracies against Christianity

  • a two-pronged attack of 1) preaching to convert and 2) campaign to forcibly eliminate the "structures" of godlessness

  • the importance of offensive campaign to eliminate godlessness not only from the America but from the face of the earth.


When the leaders of an organization declare a single vision as the Truth the path to true evil is created. How far are we - really - from a Holy War of our own?

Taking back values


  • Know your enemy - yes, enemy. If someone wants to take away your right to practice your religion as you believe, they are not your friend or ally. You have to know what they really believe. Just because they call themselves Christian doesn't mean it's what YOU would call Christian.

  • Practice your faith. Go to your own church and pray the way you want. Pray for them if that's what you believe. Don't change churches unless you want to. Don't assume that what someone else means by throwing around the label Christian is what you mean when you use it.

  • Profess your faith. This is America and you have the right to free speech. It's ok to say "hmm, that's not the way I understand that scripture" or "you know, Jesus never said anything about activist judges".

  • Stand up for your faith - Don't let the media box you in because of a label. If a pollster wants to know your religion be specific. When Chris Matthews says something about Catholic voters ask yourself "Which Catholic voters".


Taking back American Values

If you've ever read the whole Delaration of Independence you might have been surprised how long it was and how detailed it is in setting out why we needed to create our own "more perfect union".

For the sake of today's rant - let's just look at the most famous phrases: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.  That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,

UNALIENABLE RIGHTS - not earned rights or sometimes rights or rights for those we like.


  • Speak Out - Don't be afraid to give your opinion. They can shout but you can speak.


  • Volunteer - If you believe in a movement or a candidate, get out there and support them in person.


  • Vote - The only moral majority that counts is the one that wins. Don't let someone else dictate what your America should look like.
